Overheard in the bathroom while trying to convince Eli to go poopy...
Someone We Will Not Name: I think you going poopy is making me have to go poopy.
Eli: You get behind my poop. My poop is the engine.
There you have it folks, the poopy train to the poopy plant. All Aboard!!!! Choo Choo

Bah Humbug
What do you do when a tree falls?
You probably get out of the way, huh?
Well I didn't have that luxury this morning at precisely 6am, when my Christmas tree fell over... On top of me....
Yesterday afternoon while doing some holiday shopping with the family, Christopher Pop-In-Kins, our resident spying elf, set up a slumber party movie night in the living room by the Christmas tree. Sounds fun, huh, to watch a movie and sleep under the light of the Christmas tree.
Well it is, until at 6am, the tree goes TIMBER.... While sleeping soundly next to my sister, the Christmas tree topples over... On top of me. Not on top of her, or on top of both of us.... Just on top of me....
Luckily, only a handful of things broke. As you can see the Roman Coliseum now looks much more like the old, tattered version in Rome. Mommy lost a prized ornament that had Annabelle's handprint made into snowmen, but AB has so many handprints and other ornaments on the tree - I think she'll be ok. Chances are that's half the reason the tree fell over, it has too many of Annabelle's ornaments on it. At least that is the theory I'm sticking too.
Annabelle thinks Christopher Pop-In-Kins flew past the tree and that's what caused it to fall over. She found him in a bowl of popcorn looking at the whole thing. Looks like he had a movie night after we went to sleep.
The other theory floating out there is that Pa and some other folks in heaven were playing a practical joke. Cause even though some stuff broke, one of the only things that actually fell off the tree was the infamous Dick Fath table tent that has graced the tree since 2002. It landed right by my head. The hypothesis is, Jesus was walking past Pa and he said "Hey, Jesus. You want to see something funny?" And he huffed and he puffed from heaven and he blew our Christmas tree over and they all laughed and giggled at the spectacle that will now forever be The Year the Christmas Tree Fell on Eli - 2012. Just a little practical joke from heaven - we think they have a funny bone up there.
Oliver, he just sat back and watched. Probably wondering what in the heck is this Christmas thing and what is going on at 6am (that's when he actually does sleep).
These are the things that contribute to middle-kid syndrome. I'm not sure Christmas will ever be the same for me again. If I grow up to be an Ebenezer Scrooge, just know you can track it back to this terrifying experience. I sure hope Santa makes up for this in a couple of weeks.
At least the tree is back upright for now. Check out the wrecked jewelry (aka bead garland). As for me, I'm not sure I'm back to normal yet, but I did get to watch Cars 2 to help me feel better.
Merry Christmas & Bah Humbug!

Tis the Season
Happy Holidays Y'all. Mommy and Annabelle went to some fancy smancy tea party and left me with Daddy. As you can see they were trying to capture a girl picture, but I wasn't going to let that happen. Not only did I interrupt their photo, I ran sis off and got my own solo pic with Mommy!
While they were gone, Daddy brought out his 30 year old trains. These things are awesome. As you can see I had to spiffy-up the train yard with my airplane, Presidential helicopter and a few race cars (see Richard Petty parked out beside the church). Those army men look like they are trying to attack the passing train....
Annabelle asked where the graffiti trains are, but I don't think we have any of those. It was a cleaner, simpler time 30 years ago....
The question is, how long will the trains be on the table before Daddy puts them away because I can't stop playing with them...
Later that night, we put our shoes out for some kid called St. Nick. Annabelle says he's Santa's brother and he comes to take our letter to Santa and bring us some goodies.
Which he did, but as you can see below, I wasn't impressed. In fact, I had to get Mommy to do some magic and turn my M&M's into Smarties after a pre-preschool meltdown. But he did leave me a pretty cool train engine ornament and a new race car and toothbrush!
I'm still trying to figure out what this season is all about. I'm just taking it one day at a time and following Annabelle's lead, she seems to know what is going on.

Cocoa Nuggets
Big Sis got up this morning and she's a little under the weather. So she got a little TLC therapy on the couch - pillow, quilt, cuddles and hot cocoa. Of course I had to get in on that action....
Because we were on the couch, we were served our hot cocoa in a thermos. However, you can't get to the marshmallows in a thermos.
But rest assured, Mommy knows you can't have hot cocoa without marshmallows. So she served them straight up. So we both got a thermos of hot cocoa with what I call "Cocoa Nuggets" on top!
It's good to get the TLC treatment by way of a sick sister. Thanks AB!

Hurricane Sandy
From the looks of it below, you might think Sandy hit my castle in Charlotte. But rest assured my friends, she missed us completely.
What you've just witnessed is what I can create all by myself on any regular Monday at home. For the record, Mommy calls it a mess, but actually it is: one of Annabelle's dollars I ripped up, a monster truck & dump truck track, a monster truck runway & speedway, and a brand new pile of library books on top of waxed paper. I enjoyed playing in the food storage drawer this morning. Also, mommy wanted me to pass this along to any mothers with small children that might be reading - skip the library until the election is over!!! There's no parking and hundreds of witnesses to the chaos of taking 2 kids to the library. They are so eager to vote out there, they don't even hold the doors open that they are blocking. Lets put manners on the ballot.
Just another E-Fitty Funday Monday!

Crime Scene
I know, it looks like a crime scene. The only thing missing is the chalk outline. You are probably thinking Annabelle finally knocked me off so she wouldn't have 2 brothers to compete with. Well, she's not that lucky, yet. What you see folks, is my favorite place to sleep lately.
Why sleep here (where it's soft, includes a pillow, has blankets, occasionally even has music piped in the room when I behave)...
When you can rest your weary head on nice, scratchy, itchy carpet...
It's comfy, cozy. You should try it sometime...

Milk For Oliver
My lil brother drinks as much if not more milk than I do (and I drink a lot of milk). So I thought I'd help mommy out by giving Oliver some of my milk.
Oooopps, that's not quite the right spot...
There's the spot...
I can get even more milk if I do it double....
Now we're in business....
Well maybe not. Despite my effort, I wasn't able to get any milk. Guess I'll leave that to mommy.

Bedwetting Tip
For all of you bed wetters out there, I have a new tip for you. This is good, you heard it here first. I'm not even going to charge you for this brilliance.
When you get the urge to pee in your bed while sleeping, sleep walk into your parent's bed and cuddle up next to your mommy, and pee all over her bed..... You gotta cuddle first though, cause that butters her up, she'll think you are all cute and sweet while you are sleepwalking. That way, when you finally pee in her bed, she won't be mad. In fact, as long as you don't pee in the part she's sleeping on for the night, she'll sleep in it:) Ooopppss, I probably shouldn't have shared that part. But if she's too tired to change the the pee pee sheets, she's too tired to read this anyway.
It's the perfect way to avoid going to the bathroom during the night and ensure that your bed doesn't smell like a pee factory. Try it. Maybe, try it a few times. It's funny to watch them try to figure out why the sheets are wet. As though it couldn't keep being the same reason - ME.

Wetting the Bed
I'm totally potty trained, unless I'm too interested in playing with something - then I do the pee pee dance and wait for someone to ask me if I need to go potty. At which point I reluctantly go, but I first pee a lil in my pants, so I can create more laundry for my parents by requiring a new pair of pants and undies (Cars undies of course) and then pee the rest in the potty (which gives me kudos from my parents cause they are glad I didn't totally pee my pants).
Those parents of mine, they put me in a cloth diaper at night, as though I'm not able to handle sleeping in underpants. I finally proved myself by going dry most mornings, that they finally let me go to sleep in my underwear. I've been doing a really good job sleeping in my underwear. Until this week....
The first night I peed in the bed, I woke up and went straight to Mommy. I figure she's up all night with Oliver, she's the go-to person when it's still dark outside. So I tiptoe to Mommy's bed, feel for her hair, and start twirling it until she invites me into bed to finish sleeping till morning. Well about the time I crawl over her to get cozy with her and Oliver, she figures out I've peed myself. So needless to say, instead of snuggling up, I had to change clothes and sheets and all that jazz.
So the second night I pee the bed, I've learned my lesson. You don't get up, you just sleep in it. It just happened to be my sister's first day of kindergarten. As part of her new morning routine, she has to make her bed. So I decide I wanna make my bed too. I required a lil help from Daddy. As he's helping me, he feels the wet spot. He says, "Eli, why is your bed wet". My response, "it rained in my bed." How's that for clever. He changed the sheets and I think he belived me:)
Since then, I've gone easy on them, no more bed peeing, cause sleeping in it isn't all that great after all.

Airplane Museum!!
A couple weeks ago, dad took me to the Carolinas Aviation Museum at the airport because they had some neat old plane there. It was fun and here are some pictures.
After we left the museum, we tried to get some french fries, but the restaurant on wheels was out. So we went to 7-11 and got SLURPEES and a bag of potato chips. Then we went to the airport overlook to watch more planes and drink our slurpees. It was a fun dude date!
I got to sit in a real jet cockpit and pretend I was Maverick and Goose!
I am almost as tall as an airplane tire.
The main attraction at the museum is the Miracle on the Hudson plane, or as I call it - "plane crash water". Here I am standing next to it.
And here I am standing in front of it. It is big! The guy who works at the museum said they dropped the nose and that is why there is a hole in it. Daddy thought it was from the crash in the water.
Daddy and I!
After looking at the planes inside the big hangar, we went outside to see the old planes. I'm just sittin' out here watchin airplanes, take off, and flyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Here is my happiest moment of the day...no, it was not an airplane. I saw a TRAIN in the distance!!!!
And daddy long arms finished off the pictures with a picture of us.

John Mayer and Me
So ever since I've turned 2, my sister keeps asking when I'm going to start talking. She thought I might start talking after eating birthday cake on my birthday. She really wants me to start talking - which I'm not sure why because there isn't much room to talk when she's around, if you know what I mean. So while riding down the road not too long ago, this song came on the radio and my big Sis goes
"This is Eli's song. He just needs to say what he needs to say".
She's a smart one that sister of mine.... One day, I'll say what I need to say, but for now, I'm going to keep them all guessing - both what I'm thinking and when I might start talking about it.
